Class of 2010

Giselle Zabranskey graduated in June, 2010 with a BA in Legal Studies.  She is continuing her education at Buffalo State College for her MS in Public Relations Management starting in Fall 2010.

 

Class of 2009

Jeyandini Fernando graduated in June, 2009 with a BA in Legal Studies.  She is currently a journalism student.

Katy Palis graduated in June, 2009 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Social Gerontology.  She is currently working as a US ARMY Behavioral Health Specialist.

Tracey Michael graduated in June, 2009 witha BA in Psycholgy and Social Science Interdisiplinary Degree Program.  She is now working in Human Resources.

 

Class of 2008

Michael Gollisdorfer graduated with the BA in Environmental Studies in June 2008. He is now a graduate student pursuing the Ph.D. in Geography at UB in the ERIE (Ecosystem Restoration through Interdisciplinary Exchange) IGERT (Integrative Education and Research Traineeship) Program funded by the National Science Foundation.

Nicole Seitz graduated in June, 2008 with a BA in Political Science and in International Studies and a minor in French.  She is continuing her education here at University at Buffalo by getting her masters in Political Science.

 

Class of 2007

Sarah Meunier graduated in June, 2007 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Community Health and Sociology.  She received the 2007 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.  She has completed here M.S. in Community Health at SUNY Cortland in September, 2009 and is currently employed as a Public Health Specialists with the New York State Department of Health Upstate KIDS Infant Development Screening Program.

Daniel Kut graduated in June, 2007 with a BA in Legal Studies and is now currently a Customer Service Manager.

 

Class of 2006

Nikita Dorsett graduated in June, 2006 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Community Mental Health.  She then obtained her MSW from CUNY Lehamn College in 2011.  She is currently working as a licensed Social Worker for a not-for-profit long term managed care organization.

Constancia Richards graduated in June, 2006 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Community Mental Health.  She is currently working as a Clinical Treatment Coordinator at FEGS.  She is continuing her education at Rutgers University for her BSN in nursing.  Her expected graduation date is 2010.

Lee Lalka graduated in June 2006 with the BA in International Studies. His regional focus was Asia. He reports: ” I teach English in a rural area in South Korea, located on the east coast. I am having the time of my life!”

Erin Moss graduated in June, 2006 with a BA.  She is currently working at Big Brothers, Big Sisters as a Case Manager.  Erin is currently attending graduate school at Medaille College for Mental Health Counseling.

Christine Martin graduated in June, 2006 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Early Childhood with a minor in Teacher Education.  She is continuing her education at the University at Buffalo for a Masters Degree in the Early Childhood/Childhood Education Program.

Margaret Tahan graduated in June, 2006 with a BA in International Studies and Spanish.  She is currently working for the New York City Department of Education as a Spanish teacher in Brooklyn, NY.  She received her Masters of Education at Pace University in May, 2009.

Rena Malik is a June, 2006 graduate of the BA in Health and Human Services. She is enrolled as a first year medical student at New York University School of Medicine.

Amy Brown graduated in September, 2006 with the BA in Environmental Studies. She is a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Lucia Cerritos gradauated in June, 2006 with a BA in Health and Human Services- Community Mental Health concentration. She works as a substance abuse counselor.

Nikita Dorsett graduated in June, 2006 with a BA in Health and Human Services – Community Mental Health Concentration.  She is currently in her last semester of Grad school.

Alex Co graduated in June, 2006 with the BA in Health and Human Services – Early Childhood concentration. He has been accepted as a candidate for the MS in Education at the Westchester Graduate Campus of Long Island University. He will specialize in childhood education and literacy.

Ozgur Arici graduated with the BA in Legal Studies in February, 2006. He is currently managing a family business, studying for the LSAT exam, and planning to attend law school in Fall, 2007.

David Barker graduated in February, 2006 with the BA in Health and Human Services-Community Mental Health. He is applying to the Master of Public Health Degree program at UB to focus on Health Service Admistration.

Dawn Chernega graduated in February, 2006 with the BA Health and Human Services – Early Childhood. Dawn is a student at Medaille College in Buffalo, NY.

Gabrielle Joyce graduated in February, 2006 with the BA in International Studies. She plans to join the Peace Corps and then attend graduate school to pursue study about Latin America. She is currently employed as Business Manager and Research Analyst for Prometheus Research in New Haven CT.

 

Class of 2005

Michael Fouassier graduated in June, 2005 with the BA in International Studies. He is working as a fiscal analyst.

Emily Horak graduated in September, 2005 with the BA in Health and Human Services. She is currently working with Americorps National Civilian Communit Corps.

Brian Walsh graduated with the BA in Environmental Studies in June, 2005. He is employed by Lender Consulting Services, a real estate and environmental consulting firm.

Amy Goliszek graduated in September, 2005 with the BA in Health and Human Services – Gerontology and Psychology. She works as a practice manager. She is pursuing the MBA degree at Niagara University.

Ann Zagare graduated in June, 2005 with a BA in Environmental Studies and Sociology.  She is employed as a Project Coordinator & Outreach Director.

 

Class of 2004

Abda Wone graduated in December, 2004 with a BA in International Studies and has just completed her Master’s in International Affairs at SIPA/Columbia University.

Dong Hyun Chun received a BA in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Social Gerontology in June, 2004. He is currently enrolled in the MS  Program in Occupational Therapy at Columbia University.

Amanda DiLauro received a B.A. in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood from UB in June 2004.  She is a lead teacher at a daycare center and will attend graduate school at UB in Fall 2004.

Katie Scipioni graduated from UB in June 2004 with a B.A. degree with two majors,

Legal Studies and Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She is currently a graduate student in the UB School of Psychology Program.

Keith Smith graduated from UB in June 2004 with a B.A. degree with two majors, International Studies & Political Science.  After working for U.S. Senator George Allen (R-Va) he has become the Assistant to the Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).

Andrew Harris received a B.A. in International Studies in September 2004. He is currently a graduate student in the Department of Political Science at UB.

Emily Jacob-Zysman received a B.A. in Health and Human Services – Early Childhood concentration in June, 2004. She works as a teacher with toddlers at the UB Child Care Center.

Shenika Aspinall graduated in February, 2004 with a B.A. in Human Services, concentration in Community Mental Health. She has been admitted for Fall, 2005 to the Masters Program in Higher Education Administration in the UB Graduate School of Education, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy.

Rachelle Ricotta graduated in June 2004 with a B.A. degree with two majors, Urban and Public Policy and Sociology. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a M.Sc. Pl and specialization in Social Planning.  After working in South Buffalo, Toronto, Ontario and Pinedale, Wyoming, Rachelle is now working as the Community Development Planner for Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

Shereene McDeemott graduated in June 2004 with a B.A. in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood.  She is currently employed by the NYC Children’s Services as a Child Protective Specialist.

 

Class of 2003

Melinda (Mulawka) Mack graduated from UB in June, 2003 with a B.A. in Urban and Public Policy.  After graduation, Melinda completed a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning and a Masters in Public Administration, both at SUNY Albany.  She is currently working on the staff of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the City University of New York (CUNY) as the Project Director for the Communities Learning in Partnership (CLIP) project.  CLIP is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation initiative focused on improving college readiness and education aimed at changing systems to focus on increasing HS graduate academic readiness, college enrollment and college completion.

Jenelle Callender graduated in June, 2003 with a BA in International Studies and graduated in 2006 with a JD in International Law & Human Rights.

Michelle George received the BA in Health and Human Service – Social Gerontology concentration in June, 2003. She worked for two years for Elderwood at Oakwood running their activity program for residents having Alzheimer’s and dementia. Michelle has moved on to become the College Volunteer coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County. She plans to pursue the MSW degree at UB in the future.

Jasmine Brown received a B.A. in Health and Human Services with a concentraion in Community Mental Health from UB in September 2003.  She is currently a college assistant.  Jasmine is training for CASAC.

Matt O’Connell received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from UB in June 2003. He is continuing his education in Criminal Justice and is close to receiving an associates degree.

Crystal Oliver graduated from UB in June 2003 with a B.A. degree with two majors, Health and Human Services with a concentration in Community Mental Health and Psychology.  She is currently a mental health counselor at Transitional Services, Inc.

Meredith Beck graduated with a B.A. in Health and Human Services in 2003.  She is currently working on her Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology in UB’s Grad School Of Education.

Carey Gibbons graduated in 2003 with the BA in Legal Studies. She is a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom).

 

Class of 2002

Nadia Claige graduated from UB with a B.A. in Health and Human Services.

Gabrielle Foley received a B.A. in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Community Mental Health from UB in September 2002.  She just received her Master of Public Health degree with a focus in Health Promotion at San Diego State University in May 2004.  Gabrielle will be returning to UB to pursue her Ph.D. in Epidemiology in Fall 2004.  While in San Diego, she worked for the Active Living Leadership Initiative.

Joyelle Tedeschi received the BA in Health and Human Services in June, 2002. She works in Buffalo as a Homeless Outreach Case Manager.

 

Class of 2001

Alyson Duffey graduated with the BA in Environmental Studies in 2001. She is the Director of the Thorne Natural Science School in her hometown in Western New York. The Thorne School is associated with the Thorne Ecological Institute in Boulder, Colorado. Its mission is to provide environmental education about Western New York through half day and full day programs.

 

Class of 2000

Marybeth Priore graduated in June, 2000 with a BA in Legal Studies and Sociology.  She also received her JD from University at Buffalo in 2003 with a concentration in Technology and Intellectual Property.  She is currently an Associate at Colucci & Gallaher, PC in Buffalo focusing on products liability defense.  She is also the President of the WNY Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.

Roselle Weingart graduated in 2000 with a double degree in Health and Human Services – Early Childhood and Sociology.  She is currently working as a Guidance Couselor and also works for a company called My College Advisor.  The company helps high school students find colleges that are right for them through a unique program.  If you would like more informationto to www.mycollegeadvisor.com.

Erin Cala graduated from UB in June 2000 with two B.A. degrees, Environmental Studies & English. Currently, Erin works at UB as an Environmental Educator and invites you to check out http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen for campus environmental information.

Megan Gollwitzer received a B.S. in Environmental Studies, and a B.A. in English from UB in June 2000. She has worked as a Conservation District Technician for the Erie County Soil and Water Conservation District. She is moving to a new job with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Eric Weiss graduated from UB in June, 2000 with the BS in Environmental Studies. After graduation he joined AmeriCorps and served as a team leader for the Maine Conservation Corps in the construction and rehabilitation of hiking trail throughout the state of Maine. After two and one half years he moved to the other end of the US and worked on a trail crew at Haleakala National Park on the Island of Maui in Hawaii. Most recently, Eric worked as a field research technician for Syracuse University in Yellowstone National Park.

 

Class of 1999

Cheryl Nicholson graduated in June, 1999 with the BA in Health and Human Services- Community Mental Health. She works as a counselor/case manager at a residential community mental health agency in Buffalo.

Ryan Tobin graduated from UB in June 1999 with a B.A. degree with two majors, Health and Human Services with a concentration in Community Mental Health & Psychology.  He now lives is Richmond, VA and is currently a teacher of preschool deaf children.

Kari Prentice graduated in June 1999 with a BA in Health and Human Services.

 

Class of 1998

Andriana Azarias graduated from UB in February 1998 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and a B.A. in Biological Sciences. She subsequently completed an MS degree at Hunter Colege . Currently, she works as a Research Scientist for the NYC Health Department’s Environmental Health Division.

Julie Tasillo graduated from UB in June 1998 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies.  She continued her studies at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and received a M.S. in Environmental Science.  Julie is currently working at the Center for Watershed Protection as Watershed Analyst.

Erik Anderson graduated in 1998 with the BS degree in Environmental Studies. He works as an Environmental Specialist for Griffith Energy in Rochester, NY.

 

Class of 1997

Michael Kiener graduated from UB in February 1997 with a degree in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood.  He continued his education at UB and received a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling in June 2001 and a Ph.D. in June 2004 in Counselor Education.  Michael is currently a college professor at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Lauren Makeyenko is a 1997 BS graduate of UB with the Environmental Studies major. She is an environmental educator. She is currently employed by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve. She was formerly employed by the Erie county Department of Environment and Planning and at Tifft Nature Preserve. She co-teaches the course, “Great Lakes Ecology” in the IDP Environmental Studies major.

 

Class of 1995

Mark Davern graduated in June, 1995 with a BA in Environmental Studies and graduated in February 1, 1999 with a MS in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary.  He is currently employed as an Investigating Public Health Sanitarian.

Tod Kniazuk received a B.A. from UB in September 1995 with a concentration in Urban & Public Policy.  Following a six year term as a member of majority staff at the Erie County Legislature, Tod joined UB Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth in 2003 as a senior staff assistant, working on economic development inititatives and as the administrator of the Erie-Niagara Regional Partnership.

Elton Parker graduated with the BS in Environmental Studies in June 1995. He subsequently attended law school. In 2007 he joined International Paper Company in Memphis, TN as Senior Counsel – Environmental Health and Safety.

 

Class of 1994

Miranda Osborne Witkowski graduated in June, 1994 with a degree in Health and Human Services with a concentration of Early Childhood.  She is now a School Counselor.

 

Class of 1993

Stan Jisa graduated in February, 1993 with the Environmental Studies BS degree. He works as a cartographer.

 

Class of 1992

Andrea Costantino graduated with the BA in Legal Studies and Political Science in January 1992. In 1993 she received the Ed.M in Educational Administration from UB. In 2000 she received the Ph.D. in Higher Education from UB. Andrea currently serves as the Director of Student Life at the University at Buffalo.

 

Class of 1990

John Formichella graduated from UB with the BA in Legal Studies in June, 1990. He subsequently earned the MA in Economics (UB- 1993) and the JD Degree (UB-1996). He works as an attorney and is currently working in Bangkok, Thailand as an international legal consultant.

Tracy Whitehead graduated with a BA in Geography in June, 1990.  She subsequently earned a MS in Applied Public Affairs in 1995.  Tracy was a former Manager of Real Estate for the City of Houston and is now currently a Project Manager for Weatherford International, LTD.

 

Class of 1983

Alberto Manuel Benítez received a B.A. from UB in September 1983 with a concentration in Legal Studies.  He continued his studies at UB and received a J.D. degree in June 1986.  Alberto is currently a professor and director of the Immigration Clinic at George Washington University Law School.
